    Undecided

They just arrived two days ago I inflated one today to see how hard and how long it would be. It took about 20 minutes to set up but I suspect it will get easier as I get more familiar with it. I used a different model of Intex inflatable last week this particular one seems a little bit more complicated to inflate and deflate. Deflating was OK takes more energy than the other model as the valve for the bottom floor is just a standard pop in pop out unlike the sides that have the twist Valves for quick release. The design of the valve for the flooring is what is putting me on the fence. I have until January 30 to return. In PA it is getting pretty cold but I’m hoping for some chances to go out and try it out to make my final decision I will update. So far it does seem sturdy and durable I had my cat and dog jump in to give it some stress testing with their paws. I am a larger person and stood and bounced as well to stress it. It comes with two sturdy paddles and two different types of Skegs. Inflatable seats are not very comfortable and they don’t give much support don’t so don’t expect much. When I used a different inflatable I used my gear in the boat to wedge behind the seat and that helped give meSomething sturdy to lean on. It’s an inflatable kayak I gotta get the designer some slack on the seating you don’t wanna create too many strain points.

    Do NOT over inflate.

Great little Kayak. Be sure to watch the inflation of the unit, be sure to inflate just a touch under what the strip gauge shows….reason being… in 100degree weather… at the lake… the units air pressure does increase and it will self over inflate! I could actually see from day one… thick seam weld, and then by the late afternoon heat, a thinner seam weld. I checked the inflation using the strip gauge and it showed to be a tad OVER inflated by afternoons end on the lake. So you really have to pay attention to the inflation levels. The fin is detachable and works well.I would recommend this being set up in the living room and getting a “dry” run to get the seating good for you and your partner… it’s kinda tough to do once your in the water. Then deflate it and go!I did like the fact the paddles had the option of being offset when you put them together. They are decent and worked well for us.The included pump works great. I used my electric to do the “bulk” air fill, then topped up with the included one… it will create enough pressure to easily overfill the unit so be sure to watch the strip gauge closely!! The box contained TWO strip gauges… that was a nice touch. The included dry bags are ok.. had no instructions on how to use them… fortunately my partner knew and showed me what to do. :)Over all pretty stable on the lake… the wake-boarding boat wakes were fun to ride through. I never felt like we were gonna tip over. It is not self bailing. there is a plug at the front to let the water drain after getting out. I thought for the price.. this is a good unit to get to see if your gonnna enjoy the sport more. 🙂

    Great kayak!

Love the kayak! The only issue I had was after 4 hours on the river, the sides did lose air, but the bottom stayed inflated. Luckily we brought a pump and re-pumped the sides and were good to go for the last hour of the float 🙂

    Really A Fun Product

First off, it’s not the kind of craft you’re going to take down the Snake River, ok. I mean you can, but it wouldn’t work out well for you. I bought it to paddle about lake Michigan and some small Michigan lakes with my wife and whoever was brave enough to go with me. It worked perfectly for that. It’s not “easy” to inflate, but nothing that’s going to wreck your day. It’s heavy, no getting around that. If you’ve ever carried a raft down a mile of wooden stairs to the shores of Lake Michigan, that means something! But again, with weight comes durability. That thing sat in the beachgrass for two weeks, used off an on, sun and night, and never lost a speck of air.The only downside are the inflatable seats, which truly suck to be honest. They’ don’t stay in place and one of them sprung a leak. The other ripped in half. BUT, the upside is they’re not really all that crucial and a little ingenuity can bring them back to life.I’d recommend this kayak for causal fun.

The seats are also inflatable but would not stay inflated. The kayak held up very well though and plan on using again.

    Double or nothing…

This is my favorite brand and have nothing but positives about them. I wish the single kayak foot rest ends were longer though. For some reason once one side is in…the other side is out. Not sure how to get a replacement for this issue. Feet stability is important to me.

Developed hole by 5th use, Intex won’t warranty Amazon purchases

I was really excited to get this Kayak and start getting out on the lake. I was also extremely careful with it, never running it aground, only used the hand pump to inflate it and always watching out for things that could snag it in the water, so I was really surprised to try to inflate it for only the sixth time and find that it had developed a small hole right on TOP of the floor. The hole is a small tear that developed due to a weak spot where the machine heat weld had sandwiched the layers together. The product is advertised as having a 90 day manufacturer warranty and comes with a consumer booklet stating that in the box. Since I was still within that time frame, I tried to reach out to Intex first. I first called them and got hung up on (after holding extensively), then I used their website to send an email request, after another week went by with no response, I called again. Finally, I spoke with a rep there who said they won’t cover it, they do have a warranty but they ONLY cover stuff you buy DIRECTLY from Intex. Since they are the manufacturer and MOST of their products are purchased through resale, I can’t see how anyone is really covered by this supposed warranty and they shouldn’t be allowed to say there is one.Rest assured this will be the last time I ever purchase anything Intex, I also have two air mattresses, one inflates into an arc and is stretched out in parts of it so much that it’s 3 inches fatter on one end than the other.Other things I’d like to add about its functionality:It is really sturdy and almost impossible to tip, even getting in and out.It also comes with a removable keel which makes it a lot easier to track in the water but it is not very fast or highly maneuverable, it’s an upgrade from a raft but not really much of a kayak, hard to paddle against the current. (Other people in inflatable kayaks were literally able to do circles around me). Working against the keel is the two ends that inflate into a point, they get caught in the wind and try to take you that direction. It’s heavy and awkward to lug around, the bag did hold up except for the zipper which came apart the first time I unzipped it.It’s hard to inflate the seats then get them sealed up before they deflate again. This meant that they did not actually give you any lift off the floor, which was one of the main reasons I chose this model. I have back problems and it is a lot harder on my back to be level with my feet. It’s very WIDE and the paddles are standard length, this means that you have to make more effort and have an exaggerated motion with the paddle.

    It’s super sturdy

I thought the seats were part of the body?so it would all blow up together, but they are detachable which is actually better. I took it on the lake and removed the seats and layer back and watched the stars. It’s a little bulky to manage alone when it’s fully inflated, but it’s amazing when it’s in the water. Everyone asks where I got it.

    Floats well, Durable!

Everything I could have asked for. Good material, maneuvers well, and the dry bags were a nice addition. Floated well down the river with just me, then at the lake everyone was taking turns and it held up nicely with 2 people on it. Plenty of room!

This is a Good Little Boat!

I was impressed with the stability and weight it can handle for the money. It’s very stable and seems a little more durable than I expected (Keeping in mind that it has a vinyl, air-filled bottom). The next price tier ($450-700?) would be more durable and have a “drop-stich” bottom. Our little Yorkie loves it and can walk between us on the large side air channels. I wasn’t sure about the blow-up seats, but they are pretty comfortable and keep your butt 2″ off the bottom (out of the water that inevitably splashes in or drips off the paddles). Sets up on about 10 minutes. The high-volume hand pump works well. I just wish it had a pressure gauge like our paddle board pump has instead of using the silly little ruler they give you to determine if the sides are blown up enough.I DON’T recommend this for larger people. You would have to squeeze in between the sides to get in. I’m 5’9″ and 170 Lbs, my wife is 5’2″ and under 120. I don’t think it would be good if I were 185-190+.

    OOOOPS Forgot something!!!

I absolutely loved the product!!! It worked great, after we borrowed a pump to inflate it. I took it to the river still in the box. The pump was missing. I had to ask people to use their pump. Luckily there was a nice person near by with a pump. I returned the whole thing, hoping to repurchase later. I still haven’t received my refund after 3 weeks. I’ll keep checking for it.

Shipping was fast and price was below other sellers

The kayak is belt well with heavy Guage poly. No issues there. The keels provide do little to keep the boat in a straight line, especially with a little breeze. And ours were very hard to clip.in and remove. As far as legroom, i’d consider this a one adult, one child, or two child boat. Your knees are rather scrunched up with two average sized adults.Otherwise, it was a fun boat to paddle around in.The sellers price was well below others we looked at and they shipped it fast and free. Gotta love that.

Great for short amount of time.

If your looking for a quick, easy set up this would be the one for you. Im 5’2 and my daughter is 4’11, we barely have leg room.So if your taller than me you might want to adjust your wants unless its a little kid the. You should fine. We had fun this summer! Easy set up. I dont have much room on our house for a real kayak so I opt for this kayak. We always clean it up good after each use to last longer.

    I’m buying a second one

It was so easy, the leg room was great and still had more for a 5ft4″ and 5ft6″ person. Took it out on the lake for the maiden voyage , and it was easy to steer in calm water, still pretty doable when it got choppy too though. We took it all over that lake. And it’s super easy to deflate and put back in the dang bag which is always a freakin win haha good job on this one inter. I have zero complaints.

    Hole after single use

I used this Kayak once, and it was great! I went to fill it up to use it for a second time and then I heard the dreaded hissing noise 🙁 it is a small hole, but it is right at the seam. The sealant tape they provide didn’t work. This was after a single use. I contacted the customer service directly through their website on 4/19/23 and 5/1/23 and still have not received a response. Very disappointing!

Great upgrade from my hard-sided kayak!

I have used this kayak about five times since buying it, and I am very happy with it so far. It easily fits in even a small trunk. Blowing it up takes some time, but the portability makes up for it. Even with two adults in the kayak, there is a reasonable amount of leg room (it’s not extremely spacious, but fairly comfortable). Great kayak for the price.

Used it in the calm ocean, it was quick to get inflated. Got an electric pump though. Oars can be slightly short but they work. Holds two people and some stuff well. Is sturdy, color is nice. For the price it’s a great deal. Would buy again.

    Very good quality!

This was a very good purchase. The materials used are excellent quality. It is not flimsy. It solidly holds two people. In fact the maneuverability is better with two people in it. It never feels like it’s going to tip over. The paddles are super nice. They come apart and you can store and carry them in one of two bags they give you. It inflates in just a few minutes. If there is any negative, it’s that the wind can blow it around pretty easily but it’s still very maneuverable. Very happy with this kayak. I’ve wanted one for a long time but didn’t know how to deal with storage and transportation. This is the answer!

    Awesome travel kayak!

To my surprise, this kayak inflated extremely easily. It was very sturdy, even with a grown-up and child riding it. The pump included was absolutely plenty and I’m sure we’re going to enjoy this little boat for many years to come. My only gripe: since it’s higher out of the water and wider than a regular kayak, the paddles should have been About 5 inches longer to be truly comfortable to use with it.

    Perfect for a Small Space

I live in a smaller apartment with minimal storage and don’t drive a very large vehicle so hauling a full size kayak around wasn’t really in the cards for me, but I love to kayak so I tried this inflatable. I have been in one before but a different brand and model so this was still a new experience. It was not very difficult to inflate as I purchased a separate air compressor which could connect to my car and significantly sped up the process! The only issue was it took about 45min-an hour to inflate because there were so many different air pockets to fill. I am also of average weight and height for a female but the person I rode with was not, so in terms of comfortability I think it was pretty good for the first half hour or so. After almost 3 hours of use, it was a struggle to get out of because we were both very sore from the waist down due to the lack of lower back support. Overall, I loved the experience and it’s not something I do every day so I am happy with my purchase and looking forward to using it again soon (maybe a shorter timespan next time though).

For those with limited space this is the way to go, but it is not a heavy duty rigid hull kayak

I purchased this to use as a recreational paddling and possibly to fish and hunt from. I do not have the space to store a rigid kayak nor a way to transport one. This works well to fit in the space available but has limitations.First the good. You can pump this up in minutes and not break a sweat. This was surprising to me as I had purchased an electric pump as well thinking it would save time. It doesn’t, but it is less work. Take the pump in the boat with you. If you develop a slow leak it can be used to reinflate even while you are on the water. And if the air is hot and the water is cold, it is highly likely the chambers will deflate as the air inside them cools. You can top them off while on the water. It will fit in a very small space when deflated and in the bag. Any vehicle trunk will have space enough for it. But before you stow it after use, be sure to thoroughly dry it.It is very maneuverable, with the short skeg maybe even too maneuverable. If you apply a lot of power in your strokes with will wander side to side quite a bit. With the longer skeg this is reduced significantly. But it will turn on a dime and give you change. It is hard to sink it. Unless you rupture all 5 chambers which is unlikely, you will at least have something to hold onto to get to shore. If you put a hole in 1 chamber you will be able to paddle to shore still. Carry a roll of Flex Tape for on the water repairs. Seriously, this is the best way to make temporary repairs. This boat is extremely stable. You would really have to be trying in order to get it to flip. If you need to you could even stand up in it without tipping but with the inflatable bottom it isn’t easy and you could very well fall out.Getting in and out of the boat is easy. But you must accept that in getting in or out you will get wet. You simply cannot launch it in water too shallow to float it, you will put holes in it. So walk it out into knee deep water and then get in. You didn’t really expect to stay dry while on the river did you?Now the bad.The profile is quite high. If you have any wind you will be going in the direction of the wind pretty much no matter what you do. Even when paddling with the current, if you are paddling into the wind it will be a chore to go anywhere. It is also very susceptible to currents in the water. It has quite a bit of drag and you can be spun around by currents acting in different directions on opposite ends of the boat.It isn’t very fast, it has a lot of drag in the water. You won’t be winning any races against rigid hull boats. But speed is not an essential factor for my uses so not a big deal.It isn’t very thick material and operating in areas with rocks or sticks will result in holes. When this happens reach for the Flex Tape while you are on the water. It will stop the leaks or at least slow them down long enough to get you through the trip. I’ve not yet tried Flex Tape as a permanent fix though so maybe it will last longer than temporary.Permanent fixes are difficult. You should take the patches which come with the boat and throw them away, they will just frustrate you. For permanent fixes get a jar of contact cement and a piece of heavy clear vinyl sold for making slip covers for outdoor furniture. I picked up a foot by 4 feet for $2. Prep both the boat and vinyl with sandpaper and brake parts cleaner or PVC cleaner you can get at a plumbing supply aisle near you. Apply the contact cement to both surfaces allow to dry until just tacky and put the patch over the hole. Try to do this while the boat is inflated as you will want the boat material stretched when the patch is applied or the joint will fail eventually. Slap the patch on and press it firmly over all surfaces. A roller is really helpful here. Really mash the patch into place.I will attempt the Flex Tape patch as a permanent solution eventually and report back results. And yes, it also has functioned very well in the intended uses so far. Will be hunting from it this fall.

For the price this is a deal if you’re just starting out like we are. Took it for maiden voyage to a small lake, easy to paddle, set up in 10 min. Take down is longer but well worth the effort. At 6’3” I had enough room to paddle and room behind me for our lunch thanks to the adjustable seats.

NOT a 2 PERSON kayak. NOT enough leg room.More like 1average adult and 1child ,

NOT for 2 adults ,IM 5′ 4″ my husband is 5′ 10″ we did NOT have enough leg room .Was better with one person as far as leg room and comfort. We further tested it singly .Both of us found it to be better for 1 adult .We had the large skeg ,it tracked and handled well in the wind and with cross wakes from large boats wave runners etc. It was stable . Would like to have the bottom part of the seat be higher ,maybe bigger air chambers in the seat portion can accomplish that. The paddles are ok a little short and heavy ,I used my carbon fiber longer paddle [it is the one I use on my 12 foot ocean sit on top kayak} The 2 that come with it are good as spares or packing in ,as they are 5 piece. The dry bags are a nice bonus however they are fold bags not zipper seal. Pump works well and fast not difficult. Carry bag is nice size to carry all that is needed for use. However I’m sure with heavy use it will not last as the material is thin .A little heavier than expected but can carry it short distances ok. Not a bad purchase for the price I used points and bought what I guess was an open box that was not at full advertised price. All and all I’m happy with it for myself I can throw it in the back of my SUV and go .For longer trips and fishing will stick with my sit on top Wilderness 12 foot ocean kayak

    Fantastic for the price.

This is not an ideal kayak. It sits too high on the water, getting redirected by the slightest breeze, certain steps of inflation are fiddly, it’s hard to get the interior COMPLETELY dry afterwards, and the paddles supplied with it are too short for its width.However.For something that’ll get you and possibly a friend/family member on the water with minimal fuss and very little expense? It’s fantastic at that. My husband and I wanted a way to get our elderly mothers onto the local river, just so they can see what we like so much about it. We didn’t want to leave them to their own devices in a standard kayak (see: elderly), but we also didn’t want to have to spend $$$ buying a tandem kayak that could support two people (and don’t have room to store one). We also have some folks in our circle whose weight makes sending them out in our foldable kayaks a bit dicey. Add in the fact that we live in a tiny condo, with very little storage, and all those factors mean it’s foldable, or inflatable, or ‘no kayak for us’.We bought the Dakota a month or so ago, at this point, and have had two new-to-kayaking friends, both our mothers, and one of our more ‘ample’ friends (solo) out in it. TOTALLY worth the really rather minimal investment. It won’t replace our foldables, but it will remain our ‘backup/into to the river’ kayak until it gives out. I do recommend buying a longer paddle, though, as the ones that come with it work in a pinch, but they are so short they tend to drip a lot of water into the boat on the ‘upstroke’.

    Love this

Best buy in a long time. Have been out several times in it so far. No issues at all besides leg room. We are both tall (5’7 and 6’2) and both have to hang out legs over the sides to stretch. But the convienece of the inflatable is worth that. Had some issues with delivery but the seller was great to accommodate.

    Really love this

I went out for the first time and really enjoyed the kayak. Took about 20 mins the first time to get it inflated and put together. Tear down was about the same amount of time. It maneuvers really easy and stays in line well. I would highly recommend this for its portability and ease of use.

    Great Kayak

Super fast shipping, we ordered it on Saturday afternoon and it was here around noon on Monday!!Two hours later we had it on the water…easy to inflate, love the inflatable seats, very stable, easy to maneuver in the water, fast deflate and fits in the included bag very easily! Glad we ordered this kayak..

If you need something easy to peddle with rigid feel, save up for one that has a canvas overlay.

I’m a first timer, my wife has the Itiwit Decathlon and it is sooooo much better. On the Dakota you can feel the water underneath and is not very rigid. I was doing everything I could just to keep up with her making for an extreme work out. I purchased the Decathlon recently and love it! So different, but the biggest point for me was the sturdy rigid feel of the Decathlon. Otherwise the Dakota is ok, but had I known, I would have saved another 100 bucks and went with the Itiwit Decathlon in the first place. In the photo I’m in the Dakota (grey), and my wife is in the Decathlon (bright green).

    Well built inflatable kayak!

Used it twice now and it’s fantastic. Fits nicely behind the seat in my van giving us lots of room as opposed to a traditional kayak. Very sturdy! Went down the Boise river with it and also dragged it across the beach up in the mountains (see pic). No damage! The bottom is very study and it has like 6 or 7 air chambers so you really have to muck it up to sink it. Comes with skags to keep to straight and basically everything you need to get out on the water. Highly recommend.

Great an convenient kayak. Bag has a lot to be desired

Our family purchased 2 of these kayaks. Rather easy to get it inflated, fun to paddle around. Nothing difficult to get you on the water. The bag is certainly big enough to put all your stuff back in. But after 2 uses the bags material has given away already. Not sure what to do when the entire bag is destroyed.

    Impressive for a inflatable

Easy to pump up,easy to air down. Great leg room in front, kinda cramped in the back. Easy to navigate as long as you put the fin in the bottom. I missed the fin part (who needs instructions) and when trying to paddle we just went in circles pretty funny but frustrating.

Easy to set up and use!

Easy to set up and quick to inflate. My 11 year-old son could do it himself. Comfortable and easy to maneuver. It took a little tweaking to get the seat backs sturdy enough to hold us but other than that, no issues. We love it!

    Perfect for Recreational Kayaking

My husband and I have been using this all summer in various lakes around Wyoming and it’s super easy to inflate and also to deflate and toss in the trunk. The seats adjust simply, enabling plenty of leg room for us both. As an inflatable, we obviously have to watch the water for tree branches and rocks but that’s not a huge burden. All in all, it’s an easy way for us to hop on the water whenever we want.

Great sturdy kayaks, perfect and the price is affordable! Would highly recommend!

Loved everything about the kayaks! The two person kayak is great, lots of leg room for adults and lots if space in the front and back to store items! The “wet” bags were a plus, keeps cell phones, keys, etc safe and dry!

Nice Kayak option for the Price

This Kayak is a great option if the traditional Kayak price blows your budget. The seats are the biggest drawback. They do not stay in place well and you are constantly re adjusting them. I found this to be an acceptable negative as the Kayak works well for my wife and I and didnt break the bank. We are booth able to be semi comfortable and hit the lake. I would recommend this item for its ease of setup and price.

    Faulty zipper storage bag

The inflatabale kayak is good. However, the zipper on the storage bag for when unflated, broke with the stopper at base of zipper breaking completely off. When requesting a replacement from seller through Amazon, the response was that the zipper bag was ” outside of our 30-day return policy so we cannot assist with any sort of refund or replacement. I’m sorry that we’re unable to do more for you at this time” dated June 8 2020.Sadly, the kayak was purchased on May 1, 2020 for my daughter’s birthday on May 8. Living in the Pacific Northwest, she was not able to use the kayak immediatly due to weather, in addition to the COVID-19 restrictions. The 30 day return policy is quite un-reasonable for such a product and it is unfortunate that the kayak now has no usable storage bag. Since it was a gift from myself, I feel badly for my daughter.

    Worked Great

I bought this for my daughter and her boyfriend. It worked great. They forgot to blow up one section and it still did fine. The blowup and assembly part was a bit time consuming.

    Good Value for the price!

Liked everything about this purchase…easy set-up and all the necessary equipment came with it! Only thing that could be better were the seats/seatbacks. Need to improve on the support they provide. Am considering modifying the seat to provide more support though…otherwise great buy!!!

    It’s amazing

Wow this was way more than what I was expecting. Who would have thought a blow up kayak was going to be this well made. Very durable easy to blow up very comfortable and I was just amazed !!!

    Not easy to manure

Im 6’4 and I found myself being rolled up into a taco when I was out on it. It’s not easy to maneuver through with the water. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone but it is easy on a budget.

    We love it! So fun!!

Our family hangs out at a very very very small lake in the summer and this is perfect to transport. The kids and I had a blast kayaking around the small body of water all summer.
