   Very happy with our kayak!

   I did a lot of research before choosing an inflatable kayak. The reviews and descriptions of the Advanced Elements kayaks stood out to me. The company was also recommended by a well known sporting good store. The kayak lives up to its description and reputation. We have used it 4 times and it is now easy to set up and take down. Love being able to fit it in any vehicle. Very sturdy and fast. Comfortable to sit in. Time will tell how it stands up, but so far it looks to be a very wise and fun purchase for us.

   Could not find a compatible electric pump

   I’m really pleased with this inflatable kayak overall – it performs well and I haven’t encountered any major issues. However, I have found that using the dual action hand pump can be quite strenuous on my back, so I was hoping to find an electric pump to make the process easier. Unfortunately, the AE1007-E requires a proprietary screw-on adapter to inflate the main chambers, which has made it difficult to find a compatible electric pump. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time searching for a 12v pump that includes this adapter, but haven’t had any luck so far. My only suggestion for improvement would be for Advanced Elements to include a more universal screw-on adapter that is compatible with a wider range of electric pumps on the market.

   Excellent, Cost Effective Choice for an Inflatible

   Like a lot of things I buy, I over researched various inflatible kayak choices, and this was one of the top two choices. I needed an inflatible since I don’t have a vehicle suitable for a roof rack, and I needed a tandem for use with my family. Unlike other products where you can get +/- 90% of the quality/functionality of a higher cost choice by purchasing the cheaper alternative, in the case of inflatibles I absolutely believe its worth it to pay up for a higher quality. Better resistence to punctures, better wear resistence, better performace in the water, and most importantly, better user experience.User experience – if you buy a kayak that is made cheaply, feels cheap, and doesn’t track well in the water while paddling, you will be discouraged and loose interest. This kayak is easy to use, feel high quality, and performs very well in the water. You will be happy spending $900-$1,000 for this versus $400-$600 for the next lowest tier. Also, you will have better resale value if you care for it. Other reivews here provide a good range of positives on this kayak, but I will add that while the manual pump I use is adequate, on a hot day, I would really rather have a battery powered (or 12v) pump to do the work for me. IMO, that is worth the expence if you can affort it, but I will be getting one in the Spring.

   Accurate labeling

   Got my kayak, unpacked it, set it up and was happy as a pig in mud. Only disappointment was when I looked at the “Maximum Capacities” label mounted on the boat. lol, even though I paid for a 2 seater/tandem kayak, with a maximum load of 550# and received a 15′ long 2 seat kayak, the label stated “1 person 400lb maximum load”. I only hope that the Coast Guard doesn’t ticket me for exceeding capacity. I also hope that the person who bought the 1 person 400lb kayak doesn’t sink trying to fit 2 persons and 550 lbs. into his kayak .

   Sturdy and portable

   Quick to pump up but when the nozzle is removed the one way valve turns upon removal releasing the air that was just instilled. It literally took at least 5 tries to work properly. Very frustrating 😕. The quality of the kayak is good, very thick material. Have only taken out on a lake with small waves but it was stable. A little more difficult to steer when compared to our hard side kayaks. Deflates quickly. We bought this to take on long trips where the urge for an impromptu kayak trip might occur and its portability will make this possible.

   This is my dream kayak!

   Let me just say that I love everything about this kayak. I received it today and was like a giddy child inflating it for the first time. It’s rigid, it’s strong, it’s attractive. The drop stitch floor makes a huge difference.My only complaint which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 stars is that directly out of the bad looking over the kayak I noticed a pretty deep gouge in the material in the drop stitch floor. It still holds pressure but I’m concerned about longevity. For the financial cost of the amazing kayak I feel like I should get to cause the wear and tear. I don’t feel like it should come with bumps and bruises.I have called the manufacturer and am awaiting a response to this issue. I would update everyone when I hear back from Advanced Elements.As I said, I really am in love with the kayak. It’s a 5 star kayak.

   Travel ready inflatable kayak with easy setup

   This kayak paddles well for an inflatable. Sometimes you forget it’s not a hard shell. A little trouble tracking straight but that’s expected. Lots of room to bring a cooler and backpack and more on board. Consider that the outer cover material is not waterproof (resistant only) and will soak up some water so it is nice to have some time for drying after your paddle. Also, the inner inflatable can be removed to help drying. An online comment suggested getting some boat/bailing sponges (eg, NRS) and these maybe getting water out of the kayak easy after a paddle. Also, helps wiping off the drop stitch floor. During multiple trips we put the kayak away damp for temporary storage with no problems. But better to give it a good dry for longer term storage. The hand pump is all we use to inflate, bought an electric but never used it. We really like this kayak and it was a good purchase. Recommend.

   Hull # and year build?

   Just received my tandem and want to get a license in order to put it in the water.Can’t find the hull number and year build in the manual and not in obvious places on the boat!Left a voice ail to Advanced Elements. Us to er support….. couldn’t reach anyone and no one has called back yet!Can anyone help out?Would rate the boat as above so far but need above information!!!Ppp

    Best for flatwater

    Worked great on flatwater lakes, however it was difficult to ensure that the dropstitch bottom centered properly underneath.Doesn’t come with a pump, and the pump adapters it came with didn’t properly fit my electric pump.Going on a river, the bottom scraped and tore on the 2nd trip, not very sturdy if buying it for river trips.I am also typically the strongest paddler out of my group, when paddling this, I lagged behind, its very slow.

    Beware that you may get one of these that has a pin hole leak!

    Unlike most products, if there is something wrong with it, the company will make good and send a replacement. In my case, I received the kayak, inflated it, used it once, and then found out that it was deflating with a slow leak. I used it once. Contacting the company isn’t very straightforward, and when I finally got through, their answer was for me to remove the interior bladders and do a soapy water test. If I find a pinhole leak, I should use the patch kit they include. If I knew what I know now, I would not have purchased it. My advice is to find another inflatable kayak company and check their warranty policy.

    Rigid and Durable

    Really like this kayak. The drop-stitch floor makes it super rigid and stable on the water. It can be a little awkward folding it up and putting it back in the bag so I would recommend packing and unpacking it a few times before taking it out to the lake or river. I brought my dog on it and haven’t worried about it getting punctured. Only thing it is missing is cup holders 🙂

    Had mine for 10 years now. still going strong

    never had an issue with the boat. Yes i bought replacement parts but that was for an inflatable seat (wife wanted). the boat is still going strong.no leaks couple scratches, but that’s normal wear and tear.used an old electric air pump for air mattress to fill it up and the hand pump to get it to pressure. although the hand pump does a pretty good job on it’s own. Me and my wife are heavy set and yeah over the suggested weight limit, but we still have a good time. one of the better purchases I’ve made. would buy again. trying to get another one for my wife so i don’t get splashed due to her crappy paddling.

    Does what its supposed to do

    I bought this after trying a Intex one, and was glad I did. This kayak is a great kayak, and will last as a loaner if you kayak with people who don’t own one. It is backpackable, if you can carry a heavy load. It has multiple bladders, so even if one sprung a leak through all of the nylon and kevlar fabric surrounding it, no issues cause there are at least two others that will keep you up. Loaned this to a buddy when I got a better kayak, and he was impressed, ultimately buying it from me. I did get extras for it. I got the floor, the spine, and the skirt. Same buddy, we were out, and a storm rolled in cause we didn’t check the weather. Four foot swells, he did get blown around a bit, but he was fine, still happy with the kayak. It is pricey for an inflatable, but its well worth it. The best thing i would say to get for it, is an electric pump. It’s hot outside and hand pumping it sucks.

    Great Kayak and a big upgrade from my Intex Kayak

    Hello,This Kayak definitely has the feel of quality and I was blown away by how fast and smooth it moves through the water. The installation of it was just a few minutes and took so much less effort compared to inflating my paddleboard.The only issue I have with the kayak is that the drop stitch floor seems to have only 1 layer of material on the sides and I am nervous about how long it will last. Time will tell though — my first summer everything went well.One major point was Advanced Elements customer service. The bag I received was different than what was shown on the box and the company sent me a new one very quickly with no hassle. I was very impressed.Solid kayak, seems to be built well, with great on the water performance.

    I travel for a living, so this is ideal!

    I researched “portable” kayaks of all types for a long time before placing this order. I need something for everything from family outings on a small lake to ocean kayaking in the keys. This thing truly doesn’t disappoint. We’ve only taken it out once so far, but what I can say is this thing is fast, tracks straight, is super stable, and very comfortable. The seats with lumbar support and lots of adjustabilities are amazing, and the speed at which you can set it up and take it down makes it a no-brainer for a portable, capable, large load hauling kayak. With a 550 lb load, I’ll never come close to maxing this thing out.

    Excellent kayak

    Used it on a small lake just to test it. Great boat overall – keeps direction very well (although the was no wind, need to test yet with side wind), very fast – almost as fast as hard kayaks, very lightweight (20kg inflated with one seat), very stable on water (at least in no waves conditions). Easy assembling/inflating and packing/deflating (under 10 min each). Excellent design and craftmanship. Very happy with the kayak so far.One thing to keep in mind thought: when you sit alone – there is a lot of space for cargo, but when it is in 2 seat configuration the space is very limited (only 1 midsize 50L backpack and couple of small 5-10L drybags can be carried inside the boat).
